Module Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, students should be able to
Compute the resultant of forces applied on a particle.
Apply the conditions of equilibrium, for a particle and rigid body, to solve statics problems in 2D and 3D.
Analyze statically determinate trusses using the method of joints and the method of sections.
Analyze equilibrium of rigid bodies subjected to friction forces
Determine the location of the center of gravity and centroid for a system of discrete particles and a body of arbitrary shape.
Calculate moments of inertia and radius of gyration for simple and composite areas.
